NAATI CCL preparation • Built for self-study

Know what to practise.
Make your next session count.

Build a practice plan around your language, your time and what you want to improve. Then listen, interpret and review the details worth practising again.

How practice feedback works

Catch the detail in both directions

Illustrative example
1. Listen2. Interpret3. Review

Hindi is the example LOTE (language other than English).

English → Hindi

Source · English“Your bond will be refunded only if there is no rent owing.”

Example with a missed negative · Hindi“आपकी जमा राशि तभी वापस की जाएगी जब किराया बाकी है।”

Hindi → English

Source · Hindi“अगर आपकी आय कम हो गई है, तो आप किराये में सहायता के लिए आवेदन कर सकते हैं।”

Example with a changed entitlement · English“If your income has fallen, you will receive rental assistance.”

English → Hindi: a missed “not” reverses the condition.

Corrected: “आपकी जमा राशि तभी वापस की जाएगी जब कोई किराया बाकी नहीं है।”

Hindi → English: permission to apply becomes a promise of payment.

Corrected: “If your income has fallen, you can apply for rental assistance.”

Listen for negatives, conditions and words like “can”. Preserve what the speaker actually promises—and what they do not.

A learning example, not an assessment. Practice feedback supports your review; it does not predict an exam result.

You finished practising. What should you work on next?

A missed number. A changed instruction. A phrase that lost its meaning. Reviewing a specific detail gives your next session a purpose.

Build a routine you can follow, then use your attempts to decide what needs another pass.

A routine you can return to.

Choose your practice days and session length. Your dashboard keeps the current routine visible, shows completed practice and lets you schedule changes for next week.

Missed a day? Return to a manageable session and review what fits your week. Activity counts help you follow the routine; they do not predict your exam result.

Before you start.

What does the practice plan do?

It suggests a starting activity and weekly routine based on your language, available time and chosen focus. You can save it to your account and adjust future weeks. It does not predict when you will pass.

How should I use AI feedback?

Use suggested errors to guide your review of the source, transcript and recording. AI and speech recognition can make mistakes. Practice scores are estimates, not official NAATI marks or a replacement for examiner assessment.

How long should I prepare?

That depends on your skills in both languages, familiarity with interpreting and available practice time. Start with a manageable routine, review actual attempts and adjust what you practise.

Can I try before paying?

Yes. You can see your starter plan without an account and choose free practice before buying a paid plan. No card is required for free practice.

Which languages can I practise?

Explore our language guides below. The plan builder shows languages with an available sample in the current catalogue. Available exercises can vary by language.

What equipment should I use?

For spoken practice, use a browser with microphone access in a quiet room. For exam-style rehearsal, use computer speakers: NAATI does not allow headphones, headsets or earphones in the actual CCL test. Check NAATI’s current equipment requirements before your test.

Does a practice score guarantee a pass or a refund?

No. Practice scores do not guarantee an exam result. Read the refund policy for the applicable purchase terms.
